Our latest international partner meeting took place between 28-30 May 2025, hosted by the University of Florence (UNIFI). Representatives from the partner organisations – Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), University of Lisbon (FLUL), Zachor Foundation, University of Florence (UNIFI), and HÉTFA Research Institute – gathered to review the DECONSTRUCT project’s achievements so far and plan the next steps.

A key element of the three-day event was a preparatory workshop focusing on the implementation of upcoming teacher training activities within the project. Partners presented their own training plans and methodological approaches, sharing local experiences, ideas, and practices. The discussions centred around engaging teachers effectively, developing suitable educational materials, and adapting training programmes to diverse educational contexts.

In addition, participants discussed the localisation of the IHRA toolkit, the current status of the #ProtectTheFacts campaign, and the development of new IWitness learning modules and educational content for students.

The HÉTFA team contributed primarily to the evaluation and coordination of the meeting, and also had the opportunity to present our research findings – the results of the baseline study, which explored how the Holocaust is taught in the participating countries and identified the presence of misrepresentations or distortions in these countries.

The full baseline study will be available on our website following its publication.
