The project called ‘V4+WB Network of Research Managers and Administrators (RMAs)’ is co-financed by the International Visegrad Fund. The project aims to support the network of RMAs from V4 (PL, CZ, SK, HU) and Western Balkan countries and to boost their participation in the Horizon Europe programme. In the framework of the project, a series of webinars has been launched in order to support networking, knowledge sharing and capacity-building of RMAs and researchers.

The 4th webinar of the project’s webinar series will be held on 25 May 2021 on Zoom. The event will focus on the ‘Fourth component of Horizon Europe – Widening Participation and Strengthening the European Research Area’ and provide a practical overview of the topic.

In addition to experienced professionals from the RMA community, a representative from the European Commission will also join the webinar:

  1. Mr Stijn Delaure, Policy Officer at the European Commission’ Directorate General for Research and Innovation is dealing with policy developments for the higher education sector in relation to the new European Research Area. Therefore, the presenter will introduce the main novelties of the Horizon Europe 2021-2022 Work Programme part on Widening Participation and Strengthening the ERA. Opportunities relevant to RMAs and in support of institutional changes for higher education sector will be highlighted.
  2. Ms Dominika Raróg-Ośliźlok, Research Support Officer at the Silesian University of Technology will present the current (and upcoming) calls for proposals of the Horizon Europe programme.

After the above-highlighted presentations, participants will get to know more about two success stories of the Horizon 2020 programme coordinated by organisations from Poland and Serbia.

  1. Przemyslaw Data, Project’s Coordinator at the Silesian University of Technology will present the success story of the Twinning project, ORZEL (Boosting the scientific excellence and innovation capacity in organic electronics of the Silesian University of Technology).Beside the ERA Chair holder project, ExCEED (Creation and Creation and development of an ERA Chair and Centre of Excellence in Organic Electronics as a strategic point of development for science and innovation in the Silesian region and Poland) will also be introduced by Dr. Data.
  2. Dr. Goran Stojanović, Project’s Coordinator of University of Novi Sad has more than 15 years’ experience in coordinating EU funded projects. Prof. Dr. Stojanović will present the successful Horizon 2020 project called STRENTEX (ERA Chair for emerging technologies and innovative research in Stretchable and Textile Electronics)
