Between 11 and 15 May 2026, we held the final teacher training of the “SciLMi – Meta-Scientific Literacies in the (Mis-)Information Age” Erasmus+ Teacher Academies project in Budapest. The SciLMi project aims to support secondary school teachers across Europe in developing their students’ scientific literacy and strengthening their ability to navigate and counter science-related misinformation. As a partner in the project led by the University of Innsbruck, HÉTFA was responsible for evaluating the training programmes implemented as part of the project.
The international training in Budapest brought together 19 secondary school teachers from different European countries. During the training, participants were introduced to the framework developed as part of the SciLMi project and explored practical ways to incorporate it into their teaching. They developed their own lesson plans based on a range of societal issues, designed to help students navigate science-related information more consciously, critically assess its reliability, and develop the skills needed to form well-informed opinions.
