For young people, entering the labour market remains a serious challenge. The economic impacts of COVID-19 pandemic seriously affected young workers. Youth unemployment has been rising, as young people had lost their jobs more easily and recent graduates struggle to find a job. As a result, the proportion of youth not in employment, education and training (NEETs) has increased.
On 17 November 2021, a joint hybrid conference of the HÉTFA Research Institute and the InterRegio Forum Association will focus on the situation and challenges of NEETs. The conference will introduce some of the organisations and programmes aiming to help their situation. InterRegio is a partner in the project called IPS4NEETs (Individual Placement and Support for NEETs through Education Youth Technology Platform (EYTP)’, while HETFA coordinates the Lost Millennials project (Transnational research network for the evaluation of initiatives targeting 25+ NEETs) funded by EEA and Norway Grants Fund for Youth Employment.
The conference will be an excellent opportunity for those interested in youth research, the situation of NEETs, researchers and organisations providing support and professional services to share their knowledge and experience, thus helping to support young people who remain locked out of the labour market and education.
The agenda will be available here (in Hungarian).
You can follow the conference online on the website of InterRegio Forum Associaton and via our Facebook event.
The Lost Millennials and IPS4NEETs projects are funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA and Norway Grants Fund for Youth Employment.
