Sonila Hasaj is a development economist closely related with the impact of social and small local enterprises on sustainable development. After several years of experience with project and financial management in the nonprofit sector in Albania, Sonila obtained her MA in Economics from Vanderbilt University, one of the top universities in the US. Her experience includes international collaborations with researchers of the field, which focuses especially on data-driven policy making about education, environment, inequality and urban economics. Currently she is engaged as a Research and Development Manager at the Center for School Leadership, Albania.
In 2021, Sonila was awarded Academic Excellence Award by her Alma Mater Vanderbilt University. She is also a winner of the second prize of the 6th international competition held in 2018 by Leibniz Information Center for Economics (Kiel, Germany) demonstrating a real proficiency in research skills.
