HÉTFA successfully completed the test and validation session for the RESTART project on 7 August 2023 in Budapest, Hungary for a student group.

The RESTART project focuses on developing an innovative training to equip the European VET ecosystem with demand-driven training content to accompany SMEs and the European workforce to help them become more resilient when they restart in a post-pandemic socio-economic context.

HÉTFA as a partner in RESTART tested and validated the „Business models for MSMEs in the post-COVID era” training module with 25 participants in two sessions in June and August. We received valuable feedback from the participants, which will be used to further develop the modules and the Online Education Platform. The students and young professionals who took part in the training expressed that they found the training content enjoyable and valuable for their professional growth.

The RESTART project, co-funded by the European Commission’s Erasmus+ Programme, aims to enhance entrepreneurship education and training in the VET (vocational education and training) ecosystem. It involves a consortium of seven partners from six countries (Slovakia, Croatia, Hungary, Italy, Belgium and Spain). The project focuses on addressing the issues arising from digitalization and climate change. The objectives of the project include upgrading the entrepreneurship support system, supporting post-pandemic recovery for SMEs, improving skills for up-to-date market needs, and facilitating knowledge transfer of SMEs.

Based on the major business challenges identified in the post-COVID era categorized into four main areas (Digital Transformation, Innovation & Servitization, Localization, and Sustainability), the RESTART consortium offers the following seven online training modules:

Digitalization & online learning

Innovation and exploiting opportunities for MSMEs

Cybersecurity in the (home) office

Business model innovation, localization and resilience

Sustainable, social and green entrepreneurship

Servitization – transforming products into services

Emotional intelligence and well-being in the business context

The training modules in six different languages (English, Croatian, Spanish, Italian, Hungarian and Slovakian) are available at the RESTART platform.

The RESTART project partners are currently working on validating the training activities based on the previously created validation plan. This plan serves as a guideline for verifying the effectiveness and efficiency of the RESTART training. Therefore, the partnership invites existing and aspiring entrepreneurs to improve their entrepreneurship skills by trying out the online trainings and providing their feedback.

The RESTART consortium met the first time in person on 14 June 2022 in Pescara, Italy.

The RESTART – Resilience and Training for SMEs is an Erasmus+ cooperation partnership in the field of vocational education. The project aims at mapping how COVID-19 impacted small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the partner countries and based on the results, creating innovative training modules for SME staff. The overall goal is to assist SMEs to become more resilient and to respond better to unforeseen events in the future.

The partners held the online kick-off meeting in November 2021, therefore many members of the consortium just met in-person the first time in Pescara. Hana Paluska from the lead partner Slovak Business Agency (SK) opened the meeting, together with the organizing partner, Italian Development Partners (IT), represented by Mario di Martino.

The first part of the meeting focused on the results of the country mapping research, that analyzed the post-COVID economy along four megatrends: innovation and servitization, digital transformation, sustainability and localization. HÉTFA’s colleagues presented the Hungarian country report and participated in the discussion about the future of the project’s development plan.

The final outcome of the analysis will contribute to the RESTART Innovative Business Model that will promote new and updated business solutions for SMEs in the post-COVID “new normal” economy.

The partners also discussed the next key element of the project, the RESTART Training & Tools. This training will serve SME staff to acquire new, innovative business models and empower them with skills and competences. All project partners, Slovak Business Agency (SK), HÉTFA Research Institute (HU), Italian Development Partners (IT), STEP RI (HR), IHF (BE) and Internet Web Solutions (ES) contributed to the discussion by sharing their specialized knowledge on each topic.

The meeting was closed with discussing administrative and project management tasks.

Our next step in the RESTART project will be the training development and delivery to 180 people.

Find more information about the project here.
