Presentation of András Csite at the Lake Balaton Development Coordination Agency meeting
In 2021, experts of HÉTFA Research Institute, in cooperation with two European partner organisations, started to analyse the territorial governance and development systems of the European Large Lakes within the framework ESPON initiative (European Grouping on Territorial Cooperation).
On 18 February 2022, the results of the ESPON LAKES project’s analysis were presented by András Csite, managing director of HETFA at the meeting of the Lake Balaton Development Coordination Agency.
The results show that among the European Great Lakes unique in their specific ecological, economic and social context, Lake Balaton has the most integrated spatial planning system. Based on the experience and knowledge gained, Lake Balaton might become the main EU advocate for the European Large Lakes.
