The second ifempower stakeholder event was held on 5th February 2020 in Porto, Portugal. The event under the title ‘How to nurture the entrepreneurial potential of women? Knowledge exchange & synergies in the field of female entrepreneurship focusing on successful mentorship and counselling programmes’ aimed to foster knowledge exchange and discover possible synergies between participants, represented projects and initiatives.

The 2nd stakeholder event was built around three main topics: mentoring programmes; entrepreneurship support points and inspirational stories to learn & inspire. The reason why these topics were in focus is due to the project’s progress. ifempower already reached its half-time and for now not only the study on female entrepreneurs and the ifempower curriculum supported by the ifempower teaching material (teaching starts in the spring semester of 2019/2020) are developed, but the ifempower mentorship program and the female entrepreneurship support point will be launched in the spring of 2020.

57 participants from 12 countries attended the event which was hosted by our Portuguese partner, Sociedade Portuguesa de Inovacao at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa. Thanks to the experienced speakers coming from the different axes of the quadruple helix (university, non-profit organization, self-employment, research, business, finance, start-up) the project partnership collected several inputs and validation to the project outputs. Moderated discussions with the active involvement of participants also led to start further collaborations in the future.

The stakeholder events are important parts of the project not only for dissemination, but mainly for networking and collaboration. It was the main takeaway of the first ifempower stakeholder event in Seville September 2019, and the second stakeholder event in Porto strengthened further the importance of such meetings.

SAVE THE DATE! The next event will take place in Miercurea Ciuc, Romania at the end of August. There, as the closure of the 1-week-long summer university backed by a Demo Day will be organized. Participating students will pitch their business idea to the stakeholders during this multiplier event.
