The conference was organized by the Turkish Erasmus+ Agency in collaboration with SALTO. It took place in Istanbul, Turkey aiming to support collaboration and exchange between professionals in order to create better opportunities for young people in NEET – young people not in education, employment or training – situation. Nearly 100 professionals from 30 different countries – including non-EU countries – attended the event.
During the five-day event, the background of the NEET concept was introduced and the participants could review the main trends in Europe. In the framework of the event interactive workshops were held, enabling participants to present their work, their methods and their experiences connected to the situation of young people in their country. Luca Koltai, Head of Division for Public Policy and Impact Assessment of HÉTFA held a presentation on the situation of young (NEET) people in Hungary. She presented a research conducted by HÉTFA which may help the professionals to design more effective programs.
