Brief overview of evaluation process of EU Cohesion Policy funds  (2009)

The project – coordinated by the Polish Regional Development Ministry – reviewed the evaluation routines of Visegrád-countries. Our Hungarian case study portrays the history of the inland evaluation system, its institutional background, main results and challenges.

At first the concept of evaluation is shortly discussed. Then the history of evaluation activities in Hungary is under examination following the introduction of contemporary organizational settings and the assets available for evaluation. The paper also gives an overview on the evaluations completed in the last years. Based on this, main lessons, challenges and perspectives are presented.
